Nancy Jones Retires as Program Coordinator
The board of directors for the Mentoring Project of the Upper Valley announces the retirement of program coordinator Nancy Jones after 15 years of dedicated service to area youth. Jones, a retired science teacher, said, “What an honor it has been to work with our volunteer mentors. They are such kind, giving people who share their time and talents with young people, making life more interesting for themselves and their mentees.”
The Mentoring Project was established in 2005 by a committee associated with Oxbow High School. The committee was made up of staff, administrators, parents, and students. Its Mission is to encourage self-confidence and academic growth among children and adolescents by creating mutually beneficial relationships between area youth and responsible adult volunteers who serve as mentors.
The board thanks Nancy for her incredible work and will begin a search for a Mentoring Project of the Upper Valley director immediately. Interested applicants for this part time (40-50 hours per month), paid position are encouraged to send a letter of interest and a resume to The Mentoring Project, c/o Jeff Spiegel – 781 Hayward Rd.
