Nancy Jones awarded scholarship from Mentor Vermont

The Mentoring Project of the Upper Valley will be selling raffle tickets at The Giving Fair. You could win a $100 gift certificate to Peyton Place, composted soil from Bob Sandberg, or $50 towards a helicopter ride. If you are considering becoming involved this is a great opportunity to learn more and meet some of the mentoring teams already in the program. The Giving Fair is Saturday December 8th from 10-3:00, at Oxbow High School. Training/Retreat at Tao Acres
MPUV held a Training/Retreat at Tao Acres in South Corinth on May 6th. The training was about the long-range impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences and the ways that Mentors and Parents can promote and foster resilience in the youth in their care. Chris Hultquist is a certified trainer in the ACEs Initiative, which is based on the premise that trauma during childhood can have an impact on a person’s health and social experiences as an adult.
