Mentoring

When we talk about mentoring, we’re talking about something powerful: showing up consistently for a young person who needs support. We match kids and teens with adult mentors who can offer time, guidance, and a caring presence. It’s not about being perfect — it’s about being there.

What the mentoring experience looks like

Each mentor and mentee spends at least 5 hours together each month. What they do together depends on their shared interests — but it’s always grounded in trust, fun, and encouragement. Here are a few examples of how our mentors and mentees spend time together:

  • Grabbing a bite to eat or getting ice cream
  • Visiting local fairs, going for walks, or exploring nature
  • Playing board games or doing crafts
  • Talking about school, life, or future plans
  • Volunteering in the community
  • Touring a local business to explore career paths
  • Just hanging out and enjoying each other’s company

Our Mentors

Our mentors come from all walks of life — teachers, parents, retirees, tradespeople, college students — and they all bring something special. What they have in common is a deep commitment to helping a young person feel seen and supported.

We walk alongside our mentors from the beginning. We provide training, guidance, and ongoing support. And time and time again, we hear from our mentors that this experience changes their lives just as much as it does their mentee’s. It's a relationship that grows both ways.

This has been the best thing to sign my daughter up for. We had a recent loss of a family member and her mentor was right there to help my daughter in any way she could.
