Sophia’s commitment to mentoring comes from firsthand experience. After volunteering as a mentor for TMP, she saw the impact that a consistent, caring relationship can have on both a young person and their mentor, inspiring her to join the board of The Mentoring Project.
Sophia has spent her career working with young people and strengthening communities throughout the Upper Valley. She currently works as an Inclusion Education Assistant in a kindergarten classroom at the Ray School and has previously worked as an elementary classroom teacher and math paraprofessional. Before moving into education, Sophia worked at LISTEN Community Services, where she led community engagement, development, and volunteer initiatives. She is a graduate of Dartmouth College.
As a board member, Sophia is especially interested in helping The Mentoring Project share its story, connect with the wider community, and ensure more young people have the opportunity to experience a meaningful mentoring relationship.
When she isn’t working or volunteering, Sophia can usually be found reading, biking around the Upper Valley, or searching for a good thrift-store find.
